|Season 3, Episode 8|
|Air date||November 6th, 2008|
|Written by||Dino Stamatopoulos|
|Directed by||Chris McKay|
Orel's father reminisces about his relationships with his own parents, the gun his father gave him, and how terrible he felt when his mother admitted he was somewhat less than an only child because she had miscarried 10 times before delivering him.
When Clay hands off Ol' Gunny to Orel, Clay has a flashback to when he was a child, and his father shows off Ol' gunny to him. At dinner, Clay tells his mom that his dad let him hold the gun. She isn't to fond of the idea at all and chastises her husband for doing so, much to Clay's delight. After dinner, Clay wants to look through the photo albums with his mom and discovers that he isn't the only child, that his mom has had several miscarriages due to smoking and drinking. Clay goes off to play a prank on his mom and dad and makes it sound like he had shot himself. Clay's dad sees through it but when Clay wakes up, his Mom believes it was God's will to let him live and she has a heart attack and dies. Clay's dad is forced to put up with Clay after the passing of his wife. Clay makes trouble to make sure that his dad still cares for him by striking and punishing him, but eventually Clay's dad just forgets him and leaves Clay to his own devices. Clay asks about Ol' Gunny and his father lashes out one last time at Clay and says that the family's tradition of a hunting trip to pass off Ol' Gunny is now over because the gun was used by Clay to kill his mom. The flash back ends and Clay switches Ol' Gunny with a regular pistol (indicating Clay didn't want Orel to do the same with his mother.)
During the credits Clay sits at the study drinking and mourning of the night when his mother died.
